Purpose of this Manual

The purpose is to provide safe installation and operation instructions for the Avonic CamDirector® MultiShot (AV-CD-MSHOT1). Use this user manual alongside the CD500 manual for proper installation and operation.

Requirements for CamDirector® Preset Switcher

  • 1x AV-CD500 (sold separately)
  • 1x AV-CD-MSHOT1 software license
  • 2-8x AV-CM70 series cameras (sold separately)
  • 1x CAT6 Ethernet cable
  • 2-8x PoE CAT6 cables

Product Overview

CamDirector® Preset Switcher  

The Avonic CamDirector® MultiShot enables users to control up to 8 cameras for professional-quality video content production. It manages camera angles, transitions, and switching, functioning like a TV studio director. Preset Switcher  eliminates the need for multiple devices or personnel by allowing easy switching between camera angles and pre-defined shots at the touch of a button.

Installation

Mounting and Setup Precautions

  1. Place the CD500 and cameras on a hard, stable surface or use Avonic wall mounts.
  2. ONLY use Avonic mounts for wall or tripod setups.
  3. Ensure the mount can support four times the product weight.
  4. Use drop protection in case the mount fails.
  5. NEVER install cameras above people.
  6. Check installation annually.

Connecting Components

  1. Connect all provided components to the ports at the back of the CD500.
  2. Use CAT6 cables to connect 2-8 CM70 series cameras to the front of the CD500.

Operation

  • Compatible with Avonic CM70 series cameras.
  • Control and switch between camera feeds using the Preset Switcher module.
  • A touchpad can be used for switching between presets.

First Time Usage

Installation Steps

  1. Mount the cameras.
  2. Connect the CD500 to your network and cameras.
  3. Configure camera settings (IP, exposure, etc.).
  4. Set up CD500 network settings and activate the CamDirector® Preset Switcher.

Using Presets

Create and manage presets for camera shots and easily switch between them. The Preset Switcher allows switching between cameras via a browser or third-party devices.

VISCA (TCP) and HTTP (API) Commands

Use VISCA and HTTP commands to control the cameras and Preset Switcher.

Troubleshooting

If issues arise, try restarting the CD500 and cameras. If problems persist, restore to factory settings or contact customer support.

Disposal

Before disposing of the software, make sure to delete any privacy-related data.
