Functionality
The CamDirector® Voice Tracker is engineered to work seamlessly with one or more Avonic CM70-series or CM93 cameras and a beamforming microphone array. It intelligently positions and switches between cameras based on directional data received from the microphone array, ensuring that the active camera always captures the current speaker.
Compatibility
The CamDirector® Voice Tracker is compatible exclusively with the following camera models: CM70-IP, CM70-NDI, CM71, and CM73. Please ensure that you are using one of these supported models for optimal performance.
Prerequisites
Before setting up the Voice Tracker, make sure you have reviewed the Quick Guide CD500.
First-Time Setup
Configure the CD500
- Open a browser and enter the default IP address:
192.168.5.50
. - Log in with the following credentials:
Username: admin
Password: admin - Navigate to Settings > Network by clicking the profile icon in the top right corner and configure the network settings.
- Go to Settings > Updates and check for any available firmware updates. If a new version is available, follow the on-screen instructions to update.
Configure the Cameras
- Log in to each camera's web interface.
- Set the primary and secondary stream settings to:
- H.265 encoding
- 60 Frames per second
- I-frame interval of 10 frames
Room Configuration
Define Room Size
To ensure proper functionality of the Voice Tracker, it is essential to correctly configure the room. Begin by defining the exact size of the room.
Add Objects
- On the main page, select the Objects tab and click on Room Configuration.
- Enter the accurate measurements of the room.
- Start adding different objects such as tables, microphones, cameras, chairs, and zones.
- For each object, specify its location starting from the top left corner of the room as represented on the canvas. For some objects, you can also define their rotation under "Orientation."
Set Up Presets
- Navigate to the Presets tab to set up preset positions for each camera. Assign a name to each preset, select the corresponding camera, and point it in the desired position. Save the preset.
Configure Flows
- Assign relevant presets to chairs by configuring flows under the Flows tab. Name your flow, define the condition, and assign the preset under Action.
Set Up Scenarios
- In the Scenario tab, select which flows should be activated. By default, all flows are activated. This allows you to set up the room for different occasions.
Activate Switcher
- Select Switcher from the top navigation bar.
- Turn on the Switcher and choose the preferred Scenario.
Troubleshooting
- If there is no camera output, verify the camera settings and ensure they match the settings outlined in the First-Time Setup.
- Confirm that both the CD500 and the cameras are located within the same subnet.
