Getting Started
Before diving into the full manual, please follow these essential setup steps to avoid common issues and ensure a smooth installation:
- Use FAT32 media: Only FAT32-formatted SD cards or USB drives up to 128 GB are supported. Format them before use to avoid compatibility issues.
- Check inputs and storage: Connect a video source (HDMI/SDI), and insert your USB or SD card before powering on the REC200.
- Network access: To access the Web GUI, set your PC to the same subnet as the default REC200 IP: 192.168.1.100. Default login: admin / admin.
- Wait for boot: The device takes up to 1 minute to fully boot. Wait before pressing buttons or accessing the GUI.

REC200 Front Panel
Front Panel Operation
Access the front panel menu by pressing the MENU button on the REC200.
- Use the arrow buttons to navigate through the options.
- Press OK to enter a submenu or save settings. Use MENU to return.

Record Settings Overview
- USB/SD: Displays whether media is inserted
- Storage Device: Choose between USB or SD
- Record File Format: *.ts, *.mp4, *.mov
- Record Name: Set a filename
- Record Mode: Loop, Size, Time
- Record Time/Size: Set limit by time or file size
- Loop: Enable overwrite when full
- Apply: Save settings
- Start Recording: Press the green button
Important Notes
- Safely remove USB/SD before unplugging to prevent file corruption.
- Only FAT32 drives up to 128GB supported; max file size is 4GB (1–2s gap between files).
- The green bar shows available storage.
Record Modes
Loop Mode:
- Starts new files automatically at 4GB
- Overwrites old files when storage is full
Size Mode:
- Set a specific maximum file size (up to 4GB)
Time Mode:
- Set a specific recording duration (check estimated time table)

Playlist Management
- Select or create playlists, add or remove files
- Red file name: missing; Orange: unreadable
Output Settings
- Mode: YouTube or Manual (UDP, RTMP, HLS, RTSP)
- Authorize device (see REC200 manual)
- Set Privacy: Public or Private
- Click Apply, then Start Playback
How to Reset the REC200
Option 1: Using the Front Panel Reset Button
Press the reset button for 10 seconds to reboot to factory settings.
Option 2: Using the Web GUI
Navigate to System Settings > Factory Settings. Confirm reboot.
Option 3: Front Panel Menu
Go to System > Recovery > Yes
How to Upgrade the Firmware of the REC200

- Download firmware from the REC200 product page
- Go to System Settings > System Operation
- Click Upload and select the
.WVupgrade
file - Click Reboot to apply the firmware
How to Upload REC200 Recordings by FTP on FileZilla
Step 1: FileZilla Server Setup
Install FileZilla Server: filezilla-project.org
Create a user with Read/Write access and define root directory:
Step 2: Upload from REC200
- Go to Record > FTP Upload Setting in REC200 web GUI
- Fill in FTP path, username, password
- Click Apply and then Start Uploading
How to Reset the REC200
Option 1: Front Panel Reset Button
Press and hold the RESET button (located on the front left side) for 10 seconds. The device will reboot with factory settings.
Option 2: Web GUI Reset
Open the REC200 web interface and navigate to System Settings. Click Factory Settings at the bottom.
A reboot confirmation window will appear:
Note: Ethernet configuration is not reset and must be changed manually afterwards.
Option 3: Via Front Panel Menu
Navigate using the front panel: System > Recovery > Yes
Important: If you previously assigned another IP, unplug the power for a full reset to default IP (192.168.1.100).

- Open browser and go to 192.168.1.100
- Login with admin / admin
- Ensure your computer is on the same subnet

How to Upgrade the Firmware of the REC200

Follow these steps from the ReleaseNotes_REC200.pdf included in the firmware download:
- Download the latest firmware from the REC200 product page
- Go to System Settings > System Operation
- Click Upload and select the
.WVupgrade
file - After upload, click Reboot to apply firmware
How to Upload REC200 Recordings by FTP on FileZilla
Step 1: Set up FileZilla Server
Download from filezilla-project.org and install.
- Use default settings (127.0.0.1 & port 14148)
- Create a user with read/write permissions
- Set a root folder, e.g.
C:/FTP
Step 2: Upload from REC200
- Open Record > FTP Upload Settings in REC200 Web GUI
- Enter your FileZilla IP and FTP credentials
- Click Apply, then Start Uploading
If successful, you’ll see:
Check that the file appears in the destination folder:
Troubleshooting
- Error 550: Check write permissions on server
- Connection error: Check firewall or FTP port (21)
- If stuck uploading: ensure FileZilla Server is running
