Getting Started

To ensure a successful first-time setup of the Avonic CM-CON100 controller, follow these essential steps before attempting operation. Skipping these steps may result in communication failure or improper control of connected PTZ cameras.

  • Connect the power supply to the controller before connecting data cables.
  • Use the correct protocol (VISCA, Pelco-D, or Pelco-P) that matches the camera settings.
  • Ensure baudrate settings on the controller match those configured on the camera.
  • RS485 wiring must follow polarity strictly: A = +, B = –.
  • Maximum cable length for RS232 is 15 meters; RS485 can run up to 1200 meters with proper termination.
