Cause: Insufficient power over PoE or Power adapter not connected
This issue often occurs with cameras that support both power over Ethernet (PoE) and a dedicated power adapter. If the power adapter is not connected, the camera relies entirely on PoE for power.
Check your network switch type
If your switch only supports standard PoE (IEEE 802.3af) instead of PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at), it may not deliver enough power. The camera might power on, but the insufficient supply can cause it to restart at random times due to voltage drops or overload.
How to fix it
- Ensure your switch supports PoE+ if you're powering the camera via Ethernet only.
- Alternatively, use the included power adapter to supply stable power to the camera.
- Consult your camera’s datasheet or manual to confirm the required power specification.
