OPERATION

The CamDirector® Voice Tracker is designed to work with one or more Avonic CM70 cameras and a beamforming microphone array. The Voice Tracker positions and switches to the cameras based on the directional data input from the beamforming microphone array.  This chapter provides guidance on using the CamDirector® Voice Tracker. The term. For additional information, refer to the AV-CM70 series manual and the Basic CamDirector tips on our website.

Note: The CamDirector® only works with camera models CM70-IP, CM70-NDI, CM71, or CM73 cameras.

Ensure you have reviewed the Quick Guide CD500 before proceeding, as we assume the CD500 and the at least a single CM70-series camera are already installed.


First-Time Setup

Configure the CD500:

  1. Open a browser and enter the default IP address: 192.168.5.50.
  2. Log in with the following credentials:
    Username: admin
    Password: admin
  3. The settings can be found under the profile icon in the top right corner. Navigate to Settings > Network and configure the network settings.
  4. Navigate to Settings > Updates and check if a new firmware version is available. If so, follow the on-screen instructions.

Configure the Cameras:

  1. Log in to the camera's webinterface
  2. set the primary and secondary stream settings to:
    1. H.265 encoding
    2. 60 Frames per second
    3. I-frame interval of 10 frames

Room Configuration

configureTo achieve proper functionality of the Voice Tracker, it is important to correctly configure the room. Start by defining the exact size of the room.


  1. On the main page, find the Objects tab and Click on Room Configuration
  2. enter the correct measurements
  3. From this point onwards, you can start adding different objects like Tables, Microphones, Cameras, Chairs and Zones.
  4. For each object, its relevant location should be measured starting from the top left corner of the room as it is visually represented on the canvas on the left. For some object types, Rotation can be specified under "Orientation"
  5. Navigate to the Presets tab
  6. set up the wanted preset positions for each camera. Set a Name for your preset, select one of the previously configured cameras, and point the camera in the wanted position. Store the preset.
  7. Assign a relevant preset to a chair by configuring a flow under the Flows tab. Name your flow, define the condition and assign the preset under Action.
  8. Under the Scenario tab you can select which flows should be activated. By default, all flows are activated. The scenarios tab allows you to set up a room for different occasions.
  9. Select Switcher on the top navigation bar
  10. Turn on the Switcher and select the preferred Scenario.


Toubleshooting

  1. In case there's no camera output, please check the camera settings and make sure they match the settings as stated above in the First-Sime setup.
  2. Make sure both the CD500 and the cameras are located within the same subnet.
